Joe did an incredible job on our family SUV. The interior had years of dog hair and stains — came out looking brand new. Couldn't believe the result.
Ceramic Coating — Blue Mountains NSW
From POA
Ceramic coating is the gold standard in paint protection — a nano-ceramic layer bonded to your paint that repels water, resists contamination, and keeps your car cleaner for years.
What It Does
What ceramic coating protects against
- Water and moisture (hydrophobic — beads and sheets off)
- UV rays (prevents paint oxidation and fading)
- Bird droppings and tree sap (easier to remove, less etching)
- Fine scratches and light marring
- Road grime and dust
- Chemical contaminants
Is It Worth It?
Long-term protection for your investment
A ceramic coating lasts 2–5 years with proper maintenance — far longer than traditional wax (3–6 months) or paint sealants (6–12 months). Over time it's more cost-effective than repeated waxing, and the self-cleaning properties mean your car stays cleaner between washes.
For Blue Mountains vehicles, ceramic coating is particularly valuable. The region's red dirt, bush debris, and UV exposure take a toll on unprotected paint. Coating your car creates a barrier against all of it.
Note: Paint correction is strongly recommended before applying a ceramic coating. Coating over scratches or swirls locks them in permanently. Ask about our paint correction + ceramic coating combination.

Questions
Ceramic Coating FAQ
- How long does ceramic coating last?A professionally applied ceramic coating typically lasts 2–5 years depending on the product, preparation quality, and how the car is maintained. Regular maintenance washes (avoiding harsh brushes or chemicals) significantly extend the life of the coating.
- Does my car need paint correction before ceramic coating? If your paint has visible swirl marks or scratches, yes — strongly recommended. Ceramic coating amplifies gloss, which also amplifies existing defects. Coating over imperfect paint locks the imperfections in for years. If your paint is already in good condition, you may be able to proceed directly to coating.
- Is ceramic coating the same as a paint protection film (PPF)?No — ceramic coating is a liquid nano-ceramic layer bonded chemically to your paint. PPF (clear bra) is a physical film that absorbs impact. They serve different purposes. Ceramic coating protects against contamination and UV; PPF protects against stone chips and physical impact. Both can be applied together for maximum protection.
- Can you apply ceramic coating at my home?Yes — Driven Details is fully mobile. Joe brings all equipment including lighting and application tools. We do ask that the application area is covered (garage or carport preferred) to keep dust off the coating while it cures. Chat to us when booking about your setup.
